As lady-boys, we are very minimal when it comes to our beauty routine. I mean, we started wearing makeup like yesterday if you consider eyeliner, mascara, and occasional lipstick as makeup. We may not be the most high maintenance girls but we still love a good deal on beauty products! Here are some of our fave organic products for under $20.
Coconut Oil: We swear by this stuff for EVERYTHING, especially skin. It makes your skin buttery soft, adds glow, locks in moisture and repairs cuts, burns and irritations. You can also use it for facials by just mixing it with dry oatmeal and wiping away with a hot towel. A small jar usually runs at $10 but it’s worth getting the big jar for $17 at your health food store.
Shea Moisture: We LOVE Shea Moisture anything! We trust this brand so much that we will try just about anything they put out. Their all natural line includes products for hair, bath, face and body. Shea Moisture products are usually no more than $10 at Walgreens, CVS and Target.
Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay: Our editor Caity calls this a “skin miracle” and the reviews will tell you the same. It’s amazing for acne prone skin and removing blackheads. You can find this online for $5.
Coconut Oil: Your hair will thank you when you add coconut oil to your routine. It aids in dryness, thinning hair and hair growth. You can use it before you wash your hair as a pre-poo or use it to oil your scalp and ends according to your hair type.
Organix: Like Shea Moisture, we love Organix products for our hair. They too keep it simple with the natural ingredients and added vitamins to restore and keep your hair healthy. You can find Organix products at Walgreens, CVS, Target and Walmart for less than $10.
Dark and Lovely Au Naturale: This stuff is so good for black girls maintaining their natural hair. It keeps hair moisturized and holds curls. CVS carries this product for around $11.
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie: A leave in conditioner that is amazing for curls of all types. Just style, set, and let air dry. $11.
12 hour Infallible Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner by L’Oreal: Another product recommended by our editor Caity. “I’ve been wearing liquid eyeliner since I was 16 and this by far is the best one I’ve ever used in the past 7 years. Life changing.” No more than $7 at your local drugstore.
