If you couldn’t tell from our earlier post, our minds are in vacation mode and chillin’ on the beaches of Brazil. With that being said, we felt that Carnivale Restaurant would be an appropriate choice for our next Around The Way Food post. Carnivale is a Latin fusion restaurant that combines specialty Latin dishes with American dishes. Located in the chic West Loop neighborhood, it fits in perfectly with the surrounding trendy restaurants and nightclubs.
The first plus before entering the restaurant is that valet parking is only SIX DOLLARS. Yes, you read right. Valet parking for six bucks is a big deal for a fancy restaurant in a hip neighborhood with barely any parking. Welcome to Chicago.
Once you enter you feel like you’ve walked straight into a Carnivale parade itself. The interior décor is amazing. The place is huge and filled with so much energy: cool funky furniture, colorful lights, dope pictures, and upbeat music. Whoever decorated the place must have been in samba mode (Brazilian dance) because it looks like one big stylish party. When the time comes for us to decorate our homes, we’re coming here for inspiration. This description is not even close to doing it justice. It’s simply something one should just experience for themselves.
This is the perfect place to host a bridal shower, engagement party, birthday, or have bae splurge on you- because it is pricey, but worth it. The food is off the chain. I (Rebecca) went for a friend’s birthday and we had no choice but to turn it into a potluck dinner. We each had to sample each other’s dishes. I made the mistake of eating Ethiopian Diamond before and only had enough room for dessert, but I still left out a happy fatty.
Experience it yourself!
